Red, Blue and Yellow Onions are the mother ships of the Red, Blue and Yellow Pikmin. You grow these Pikmin armies when you bring pellets or defeated monsters back to the Onion.
Purple and White Pikmin are rare, and can only be grown underground. Toss your Pikmin into a white or purple flower, and a new white or purple Pikmin will emerge from it.
